Prudential Financial Stock Rating Reaffirmed by TheStreet (PRU)

Prudential Financial (NYSE: PRU)‘s stock had its “buy” rating reiterated by equities research analysts at TheStreet in a research note issued to investors on Monday.

The analysts wrote, “Prudential Financial (PRU) has been reiterated by TheStreet Ratings as a buy with a ratings score of B- . The company’s strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its robust revenue growth, reasonable valuation levels, good cash flow from operations and largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company has had sub par growth in net income.”

A number of other firms have also recently commented on PRU. Analysts at Sandler O’Neill raised their price target on shares of Prudential Financial from $57.00 to $59.00 in a research note to investors on Tuesday, February 12th. Separately, analysts at Raymond James raised their price target on shares of Prudential Financial from $79.00 to $82.00 in a research note to investors on Tuesday, February 12th. Finally, analysts at Zacks reiterated a “neutral” rating on shares of Prudential Financial in a research note to investors on Friday, February 8th. They now have a $60.00 price target on the stock.

Fifteen analysts have rated the stock with a buy rating, one has given an overweight rating, and six have issued a hold rating to the company. The stock currently has a consensus rating of “overweight” and a consensus target price of $67.92.

Shares of Prudential Financial traded down 0.42% during mid-day trading on Monday, hitting $54.75. Prudential Financial has a 52 week low of $44.47 and a 52 week high of $65.17. The stock’s 50-day moving average is currently $57.26. The company has a market cap of $25.459 billion and a P/E ratio of 58.37.

Prudential Financial last released its earnings data on Wednesday, February 6th. The company reported $1.69 EPS for the quarter, missing the Thomson Reuters consensus estimate of $1.74 by $0.05. On average, analysts predict that Prudential Financial will post $7.80 earnings per share for the current fiscal year.

The company also recently announced a quarterly dividend, which is scheduled for Thursday, March 21st. Stockholders of record on Tuesday, February 26th will be paid a dividend of $0.40 per share. This represents a $1.60 annualized dividend and a dividend yield of 2.91%. The ex-dividend date is Friday, February 22nd.
