Romney Appears at NH Parade for 4th of July

Mitt Romney recently celebrated the Fourth of July by participating in a small parade in the town of Wolfeboro New Hampshire. During the parade he told residents that they need to work together in order to build strong families as well is a strong economy which will help to keep America alive.

This participation in the parade was a short break from Romney and his wife vacationing at their nearby lakeside estate.

Romney said during the parade, “my heart is full this morning. I love our flag. The world needs a strong America, an America with strong homes and families, America with a strong economy. That’s the America we must have and we must build.”

It was not just Romney however that was present at the parade but also his sons, their wives as well as all 18 grandchildren made an appearance. This is their only official appearance during his weeklong family vacation away from the campaign trail.

It was not the first time that Romney has been spotted around the area since he arrived last week though. He has been spotted going into town by boat to get ice cream and also been spotted playing volleyball, writing water scooters and hanging out on the beach with his children. He has still stuck to many of his normal routines however which includes going to church.

It hasn’t been a completely relaxing vacation for him though as he got together on Tuesday with his top advisers and campaign manager to talk about his campaign. Recently his top strategist was also in town shooting video that will be used for new TV ads.

This vacation of Romney’s is in contrast to the current president who canceled his annual summer vacation to Martha’s Vineyard. He did however spend the weekend at Camp David before returning to Washington on Wednesday where he participated in a naturalization ceremony at the White House.

An interesting thing to note is that even though Romney and his family have not encouraged media coverage of their outings in New Hampshire, they have not shied away from it either.
