JACKSONVILLE — Jaguars starting quarterback David Garrard left practice early Thursday evening with a sore back, per Jaguars beat writer Tania Ganguli. She also noted Garrard was knocked down a couple of times despite wear his red “no-contact” jersey. It’s unclear if Garrard will undergo x-rays or just take it easy for a few days. He missed a couple of practices early last year with a stiff back, so the team will likely take the route of caution.
Whether or not Garrard will be ready to go, expect to see a healthy dose of heralded rookie Blaine Gabbert at Saturday night’s scrimmage. The team announced last week the scrimmage will be open to the public, unlike last year’s scrimmage, which was only open to season ticket holders.
Good ridance I say. Bring on the kid!JK! Garrard’s lot better than people give him credit for. Hope he gets well soon.
