Ernest Wilford, who was resigned just 10 days ago after failing to make the final roster cut, has been released again. Wilford was originally drafted as a WR in 2004. He made the switch to TE after a short stint with the Miami Dolphins in 2008.
When discussing his prior release, Wilford said he was “never worried.” He also noted that he never cleaned out his locker. We’re hoping the TE, a well-liked player in the locker room and in the community, doesn’t become the Kennard Cox of 2010. Kennard Cox was famously involved in 12 transactions with the Jaguars in 2009 — he was constantly being release, re-signed, placed on the practice squad, etc.
